Ascent 101 – National Sibling Day

A joyous first to acknowledge this day. I have 3 siblings: Alistair, Ian and Julia. I’m the second eldest of the gang.

They truly are a blessing to share the bloodline with and I have so many amazing memories as far back as I can remember. We’ve been through a lot as a family, moving around so many times with my father in the Royal Air Force. Mum and Dad always did such an amazing job of being there for us, spending time with us and giving us the best they could.

Us kids moved away for a while also. I came to the United States in 1984 and remained. My brothers did tours in the Air Force and moved their families around. It wasn’t my intention to leave the country for good when I came here – it was supposed to be a 6 month assignment.

One thing that has been prevalent is the bond that we have. Even though not in the same space that often, we share a bond & love that is nothing short of amazing. Regardless of how much time we’ve spent apart, when we’re together, it’s like we haven’t missed a beat.

And that is a core part of the foundation of my journey – knowing my brothers & sister are there for me, anytime. No matter what. I love you and look forward seeing you all again soon.
